There are two areas where cable beats satellite. The first area is internet service. DSL beats the pants off cable as far as internet service goes, but cable beats satellite hands down in this area. Satellite internet is a lot slower than cable and DSL and is priced much higher. But, if you happen to live in a rural area though, you will be glad to endure the discomforts of price and speed of satellite internet.

The other area is bundled services. Some people, for whatever reason, want to pay only one bill for multiple services. Not me! I like to break them apart so I can save more money. Cable companies lure you in with a low price for phone, internet and cable. The problem is that after the introductory period the price goes back up. At this point cable companies can get pretty pricey.
